Get ready for some laughs as the Winner Community Playhouse presents the comedy “Honky Tonk Hissy Fit” by Jones Hope Wooten. This lively show is set in Doublewide, Texas, and promises plenty of small-town antics and big personalities.
Performances run in February on Friday the 20th, Saturday the 21st, Thursday the 26th, Friday the 27th, and Saturday the 28th, 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the curtain goes up at 7:30 PM.

The Colome American Legion and Lariat Loopers 4-H club invite you to come and enjoy a sampling of chili & soup. Donations go to support Tripp County youth programs. Vote for the hottest chili, best unusual chili, best tasting chili, and best tasting non-chili soup.
Soup/chili makers can choose to bring a side or dessert to serve alongside, and also participate in the voting for best side/dessert. Anyone is welcome to sign up and bring a crockpot or roaster of their favorite. When entering, the chef is asked to state which category they’d like to compete in (and if they want to be in the bonus category of best side/dessert). The winner of each of the 5 categories can choose what local youth group they want to receive their portion of the prize $$ (value based on donations received from those attending the meal).

For all gardeners (and those who want to garden)!
SDSU Extension will be hosting a workshop in Winner at the SDSU Extension Regional Center on March 17 to help you feel prepared and confident for the upcoming growing season.
Participants will receive research-based tips and strategies for navigating the unique gardening challenges of western South Dakota, including fluctuating temperatures, high winds, hail, early or late snowfall, and short growing seasons. Topics include seed starting, transplanting, soil fertility, varietal selection, irrigation, protected cultivation, pest management, and harvest strategies tailored specifically to Winner and Tripp County.
